What I Believe

When I am in a leadership role for a theatrical endeavor, especially one involving young people, my top three priorities are as follows, in order:

1. Everyone involved is and feels safe (physically, emotionally, mentally, etc.)

2. Everyone involved will look back on their experience positively

3. The end result is a successful show

My focus is on inspiring creativity and joy and on empowering young people.  I want my students to walk away with a better understanding of themselves and others.  I want them to strengthen both their self confidence and their capacity for teamwork.  I want them to think critically and feel deeply.  Furthermore, I strongly believe that when people are enjoying themselves and growing as individuals, a quality performance or successful academic lesson is much more easily achieved.
